After the quasi-disaster of the Mint/Nottingham Hat, I decided to take a step back and try something a little simpler. Take a breather and all that. After all, it was probably my rushing through the pattern that had caused it to end up all wonky looking. At the same time, I didn't want to do anything too-too basic... just basic enough that I could be trusted to not muck it up.
No, I didn't quite muck it up. Sure, it didn't come out as floppy and slouchy as the preview photo but that could've been any number of things! Maybe I didn't check my gauge properly, maybe it was the yarn, maybe I miscounted my rows, maybe my head is unusually large... Either way, I'm happy with how it came out. What is it, you ask? Why, it's the Scorpion Bowl Hat by Thea Colman!
I used my favorite Cascade 220 and like I said, the only problem I had is that it's not as slouchy as the preview image on the pattern.
